Cumberland County Exhibition

The Cumberland County Exhibition is one of Nova Scotia's long-running country fairs, anchoring the town of Oxford for a full week at the end of every summer. The 2026 edition runs August 31 to September 6 at the exhibition grounds on Waverly Street, closing out the county fair season with livestock shows, 4-H competitions, a midway, and agricultural displays that draw families from across the Northumberland Shore and beyond.

Oxford knows how to mark the harvest: the fair opens right as the Nova Scotia Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival wraps up its two-week run in the same town, making the stretch from mid-August to Labour Day the busiest of the year on this corner of the province. Cattle, horse, sheep and goat classes fill the week, alongside community suppers and the evening events that have kept fairgoers returning for generations.

The exhibition closes on Sunday, September 6, the day before Labour Day, which makes it a natural final stop on a late-summer road trip through northern Nova Scotia.
