Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information Nova Scotia Vacation ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. This site is an informational travel guide; we aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
Information We Collect
We do not require you to create an account to use this site. The information we may collect includes:
- Usage data: pages visited, referring sites, approximate region, and device type, collected via privacy-friendly analytics (see below).
- Email address: only if you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter via the signup form.
- Information you provide to third parties: if you click an affiliate link (for example, to book a hotel or flight), any information you give is handled by that third party under their own privacy policy, not ours.
Cookies & Analytics
We use two analytics services to understand which content is useful and to improve the site:
- Umami — a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics platform. Umami anonymizes data and does not use cross-site tracking cookies or build personal profiles.
- Google Analytics 4 — uses cookies (such as
_gaand_ga_<property-id>) to distinguish unique users and measure sessions. IP addresses are masked (anonymized) at the network edge by Google. We use the resulting aggregate metrics to understand traffic patterns and improve content. Google processes this data on our behalf under Google's data-processing terms.
We do not sell personally identifying information, and no personal data is shared for advertising directly by us. You can block these cookies via your browser settings without affecting your ability to read the site.
Third-Party Services
Our pages contain links to third-party booking and travel platforms (such as Travelpayouts partners). Once you leave our site, those services' own privacy policies apply. We encourage you to review them.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you. Because we collect minimal data, we typically have little to none — but you can contact us anytime.
