Not Since Moses 5K/10K

Not Since Moses is one of Nova Scotia's most extraordinary — and most unusual — running events. Held on the exposed ocean floor of the Bay of Fundy at extreme low tide, the race lets participants literally run where the sea usually stands, across a seabed covered by up to 50 feet (15 metres) of water at high tide. Starting and finishing at Five Islands Lighthouse Park, it's a bucket-list experience that pairs athletic challenge with one of the natural wonders of the world.

The 2026 edition, set for Sunday, August 16, offers 5K and 10K distances plus youth races, all timed to the tide chart so runners complete the course before the world's highest tides rush back in. The route winds across the red mud and rock of the ocean floor beneath the soaring sea cliffs of the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark, passing sea stacks and ancient geological formations usually hidden beneath the waves. It's as much a geology lesson as it is a race.

Featured on Tourism Nova Scotia's "Don't Miss Events" list and drawing runners from across Canada and beyond, Not Since Moses sells out quickly.
