Summer & Fall Activities (June – October)
From late June through October, the Cape Smokey Gondola transforms the summit into an adventure playground. Your day pass includes unlimited gondola rides and access to all activities — hiking, kayaking, mini golf, disc golf, and mountain biking.
Scenic Gondola Ride
An 8-minute ride to the summit of Cape Smokey with panoramic views of the Cape Breton Highlands and the Atlantic Ocean. The only gondola in Nova Scotia — the views change beautifully with every season.
Hiking Trails
A 5 km round-trip forest trail connects the summit to Hawley Lake. Peaceful, scenic, and surrounded by nature. Multiple lookout points along the way including Eagles Talon Look-Out and Eagles Valley Look-Off.
Kayaking & Paddle Boarding

Wear Good Shoes
The hiking trail to Hawley Lake is 5 km round trip on natural forest terrain. Wear sturdy footwear — hiking shoes or trail runners are ideal. No bathrooms at the summit.
Bring a Camera
