Devour! The Food Film Fest

Devour! The Food Film Fest is the world's largest culinary film festival, celebrating its 16th anniversary in 2026 with the theme "Devour! The Sea" from October 19–25 in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Founded in 2009 by chef Michael Howell and film industry veteran Lia Rinaldo, Devour! has grown from a small slow-food offshoot into an internationally acclaimed event that attracts over 10,000 visitors, high-profile chefs, and celebrated filmmakers from around the globe each October.

The 2026 edition dives deep into coastal cuisine with 70+ events spanning film screenings, chef demonstrations, hands-on culinary workshops, and immersive food experiences. Highlights include the Taste of Nova Scotia Opening Gala Evening, the Chefs & Shorts Gala Dinner, the legendary Chowder Smackdown, the Neptune Night Market featuring global seafood street food, and exclusive Seaside Foraging Tours along the Bay of Fundy coast. Confirmed culinary stars include sustainable seafood advocate Ned Bell, PEI chef-entrepreneur Charlotte Langley, and acclaimed Atlantic Canada chef Chris Aerni. The festival's film program features 40+ films from around the world, including documentaries, short films, and feature presentations screened at the Al Whittle Theatre, Devour! Studios, and Convocation Hall at Acadia University.

Beyond the mainstage events, Devour! offers a weekend-long celebration of Nova Scotia's agricultural and culinary bounty. The Wolfville Farmers' Market hosts food and wine tastings, the Grand Tasting event showcases 30+ local restaurants and wineries, and the festival's VIP All-Access Pass provides front-of-line access, chef meet-and-greets, and transportation to select events. The festival also features the Seafood Academy, a three-day masterclass for home cooks, and a range of free community events including the Great Community Chicken Supper that supports regional food banks.
