Ironworks Distillery is a stop on Nova Scotia's Good Cheer Trail, pouring small-batch rum, vodka, and liqueurs from a restored 1893 marine blacksmith's shop at 2 Kempt Street. The tasting room opens onto the street three blocks from the Lunenburg harbour, with tours of the stills and casks running through the afternoon. Spirits here are made from South Shore grain and orchard fruit rather than imported neutral alcohol.

For those driving from Halifax, take Highway 103 to Exit 11, head south on Highway 324 until it ends, turn left onto Lincoln Street, continue through town, and turn right onto Kempt Street. The distillery is one block down on the left-hand corner.
