Knaut-Rhuland House Museum

The Knaut-Rhuland House Museum at 125 Pelham Street in Lunenburg is a Georgian-style residence built in 1793 and opened to the public as a house museum. Costumed guides lead visitors through furnished rooms that show how Lunenburg's merchant families lived in the late 1700s. The house is closed for the entire 2026 season while the Lunenburg Heritage Society carries out conservation work on the building; the society's posted notice says it will welcome visitors again in 2027. Admission is by donation when the museum is open, and the heritage garden on the grounds is closed for the duration of the conservation project as well.

2026 Season — Conservation Closure
The museum is closed for the whole of the 2026 season for conservation work, and the heritage garden is closed during the project too. Plan around the other Old Town sights this year — the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic and the waterfront historic district are a five-minute walk downhill.
