The Louisbourg Lighthouse Coastal Trail — a mostly level 2-kilometre loop with longer options — has been praised as one of Canada's best coastal walking experiences, offering dramatic views of wild ocean tides crashing into craggy coves and the Precambrian granite shoreline. The trail was restored in 2024 and a 1.7 km section is now wheelchair accessible and senior friendly. Wildlife is abundant: seals are frequently spotted near shore, and occasional whale sightings add to the allure.
