About Annapolis Valley Exhibition
The Annapolis Valley Exhibition — affectionately known as AVEX — is a beloved six-day agricultural fair that has anchored summer in Lawrencetown for nearly a century. Celebrating 99 years of tradition in 2026, the exhibition runs August 17–22 on the historic grounds at 570 Main Street, bringing together the farming community and visitors for a week of agriculture, livestock, live music, a midway, motorsports, food, and family fun.
Agriculture is at the heart of AVEX. The grounds come alive with livestock shows, 4-H activities, agricultural displays, and the Farm Museum, while market vendors, a farmers' market, and competition prize books showcase the bounty of the Annapolis Valley. Community Day on Monday opens the week with free admission for everyone and a Main Street Parade that makes its way through the grounds and into the Main Ring — a full-family kickoff to the week.
The evenings belong to the Riverside Stage, which closes out the week on Saturday, August 22 with country-rock headliner Cory Marks — whose breakout hit "Outlaws & Outsiders" has earned more than 415 million global streams — joined by rising East Coast country artist Sean Michael Ryan. With early-bird week passes covering all exhibition events and concerts (midway rides excluded) and free admission for children 12 and under all week, AVEX is one of the most affordable and authentic ways to experience small-town Nova Scotia in summer.
