About Beaux Vendredis Seafood Suppers
Beaux Vendredis Seafood Suppers are the tastiest Friday tradition on St. Mary's Bay. Throughout the summer of 2026, the waterfront park at Belliveau Cove β Parc Joseph-et-Marie-Dugas β hosted affordable lobster, snow crab, and clam suppers served alongside live Acadian music. 'Beaux vendredis' means 'beautiful Fridays' in French, and the name captures the evening perfectly: fresh seafood, fiddle tunes, and the unhurried hospitality of Clare, Nova Scotia's largest Acadian community.
The 2026 schedule ran Wednesday, July 1 and Fridays, July 31 and August 14, with suppers starting at 6pm. Guests feasted on their choice of lobster, snow crab, or clams β all affordably priced and cooked up by local organizers β while local musicians performed on the waterfront. It's a genuine community supper rather than a tourist production, which is exactly what makes it special.
Belliveau Cove is located on Highway 1 in the Municipality of Clare, about 25 minutes south of Digby. The park also features a 5-km coastal walking trail, a lighthouse, a marina, and the Belliveau Cove Farmers' Market (Saturdays 10am-2pm), making it easy to build a full day around a Beaux Vendredis supper. The 2026 suppers were a highlight of the Clare summer; contact 902-769-8618 or visit BaieSainteMarie.com for next year's dates.
