Dine Around Nova Scotia

Every February, Halifax restaurant kitchens build menus they don't offer the rest of the year. Dine Around Nova Scotia runs February 1-28, 2027, with participating restaurants across the city serving specially curated fixed-price menus — lunch and dinner at $10, $20, $30, $40, $50, $60, and new for 2027, $70. It is the deepest-eating month of the Halifax dining calendar: a chance to try that room you've been meaning to book, at a set price, with chefs often preparing exclusive dishes for the promotion. Restaurant offers are added through December and January, so the participating list grows right up to opening day.

The program is organized by Discover Halifax with the participation of restaurants, pubs and bars across the region, and it runs alongside the wider provincial Dine Around tradition that the Savour Food and Wine Festival has long coordinated across Nova Scotia each February. Bookings are made directly with each restaurant — there is no festival pass to buy — which means the smart play is to reserve early for the most popular rooms, especially weekend seatings. The Coast's annual guide to the event puts it plainly: it is the month to explore new restaurants without the usual guesswork about the bill.

Visiting in February gets you the city at its most local: hotel rates are at their annual low, tables are easier to come by than in summer, and the restaurants are cooking for the festival's audience rather than a tourist crush. Pick two or three price tiers, book ahead, and make a weekend of it between the waterfront and the North End.
