Lebanese Cedar Festival

The Lebanese Cedar Festival was a vibrant celebration of Lebanese culture, cuisine, and heritage hosted by Halifax's thriving Lebanese-Canadian community at the Olympic Hall Community Centre. For one weekend each summer, the venue transformed into a lively souk filled with the aromas of shawarma, baklava, tabbouleh, and freshly baked manakish. The 2026 edition ran June 4–7.

The 2026 festival featured authentic Lebanese food vendors, traditional dabke dance performances, live Arabic music, and a bustling marketplace offering handmade crafts, jewellery, and imported goods. Cooking demonstrations revealed the secrets of Lebanese home cooking, while a dedicated kids' zone kept younger visitors entertained with games and activities.

Now in its second decade, the Lebanese Cedar Festival has become one of Halifax's most beloved multicultural events, drawing thousands of visitors eager to experience the warmth and hospitality of Lebanese culture.
