Shag Harbour UFO XPO 2026

Update, August 2026: the Shag Harbour UFO XPO 2026 has been cancelled. The Shag Harbour UFO Incident Society announced that, following the sudden passing of Society president Laurie Wickens, it made the difficult decision to cancel this year's event. All tickets purchased through Eventbrite were automatically refunded, and the Society has signalled its intention to return for the incident's 60th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

The XPO was to be a three-day expo exploring Canada's most famous UFO incident — the 1967 Shag Harbour sighting — with renowned UFO researchers, expert talks, panel discussions, special guests, and a bus tour to the shore where the object was seen descending into the ocean. It takes its name from Canada's most investigated UFO case: on October 4, 1967, multiple witnesses reported a glowing object crashing into the waters off Shag Harbour, and the RCMP and Canadian military mounted a search that never recovered the craft. The story anchors a permanent exhibit at the Shag Harbour UFO Interpretive Centre, which remains open and is a worthwhile stop for anyone drawn to the mystery.

The expo was scheduled to run October 2–4, 2026 at the Rodd Grand Hotel, 417 Main Street, Yarmouth.
