About Taste Asia 2026
Taste Asia returns to the Halifax waterfront from September 10 to 13, 2026, turning Salter Lot into a four-day food and culture festival celebrating Asian cuisine, craft, and community across Nova Scotia. Local restaurants and independent vendors set up a waterfront street-food market β regional specialties, snacks, desserts, and drinks β beside booths from local artisans and makers. Admission is free, with festival hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The site sits right on the Halifax waterfront, a short walk from the rest of the downtown's things to do.
Beyond the food tents, the festival runs a full program. A Cultural Workshop Tent hosts participatory sessions inspired by traditional crafts and art forms, with multiple daily sessions and advance registration for some limited-capacity workshops. A live performance stage programs traditional and contemporary music and dance through the weekend, while Demo Kitchen LIVE puts local chefs on stage preparing dishes and sharing techniques, ingredients, and stories.
The organizers frame Taste Asia as more than a food festival β a celebration of the cultures, traditions, and people that make Nova Scotia home, built with local restaurants, food vendors, artisans, performers, chefs, cultural organizations, and community groups. September is one of the best months to visit the city, and the festival lands mid-month; pair an afternoon at Salter Lot with reservations from our Halifax dining guide for a full weekend in the city.
