History & Description
The Trenton (East River) Front Range Light was established in 1920 on Stonehouse Point, near the outer entrance to the East River in Pictou County. The structure is an enclosed wood frame tower painted white with a red stripe, standing 15 feet tall. It serves as the front light of a pair of range lights guiding vessels into the East River from Northumberland Strait. The rear light is a skeleton tower. The light was automated by 1993 and remains in active operation, showing a flashing white characteristic.
