Digby Scallop Days
For over half a century, Digby Scallop Days has celebrated the proud heritage of the Digby scallop fishing industry β honouring the community's identity as the "Scallop Capital of the World." Taking place from August 6 to 9, 2026, this four-day festival transforms the Digby waterfront into a vibrant hub of live music, family-friendly activities, mouthwatering seafood, and deep-rooted maritime tradition. As the longest-running festival in the Digby area, Scallop Days brings together locals and visitors alike to celebrate the world-renowned Digby scallop β famous for its unique, succulent taste β and the brave fishermen who harvest them from the cold, nutrient-rich waters of the Bay of Fundy.

Admission
The majority of events are free. Some activities (like the Scallop Barbecue) have nominal fees. Registration fees apply for certain competitions. The festival strives to keep all costs minimal.
Getting There
Digby is located on the western shore of the Annapolis Basin, approximately 2.5 hours from Halifax via Highway 101. It's also the terminus of the Digby-Saint John ferry from New Brunswick, making it a popular entry point for visitors arriving from across the Bay of Fundy.
Parking
Free street parking and public lots available in downtown Digby. The compact waterfront layout means most festival activities are within easy walking distance.
Food
The highlight is the Digby Scallop Days Barbecue serving fresh local scallops. All local restaurants feature scallop specials throughout the festival weekend. Vendors along Admiral's Walk offer additional food options.
