The Baddeck Gathering Céilidh, held at St. Michael's Parish Hall on 6 Margaree Road in the village of Baddeck, is one of Cape Breton's most beloved summer traditions. Running nightly through the summer season, this authentic kitchen-party experience immerses visitors in the island's rich Gaelic and Scottish heritage — expect virtuoso fiddle music, Gaelic song, step-dancing, and the warm hospitality of tea and locally baked oatcakes. The céilidh takes its name from a popular Cape Breton fiddle tune recorded by Winston Fitzgerald, Howie MacDonald, and Johnnie Wilmot, and is dedicated to the memory of the late Charlie MacCuspic, whose family founded the gathering in 1999.
