Deep in the sugar woods of northern Nova Scotia's Cobequid Hills, Sugar Moon Farm is a working 200-acre maple syrup farm with a log restaurant, hiking trails through the sugar bush, and a maple tradition the same family has been building since 1996. The farm near Tatamagouche has drawn visitors from around the world to see maple syrup production, though on-site tapping has been on hold since Hurricane Fiona in September 2022 and the syrup is now sourced from neighbouring producers. Today the farm is best known for its famous fluffy pancakes drizzled with pure maple syrup and its brunch service. At the end of October 2026 the farm announced that restaurant operations are paused for the winter, with re-opening planned in spring 2027 (the reservation-based pop-up brunches were a summer 2026 offering), and that it is weighing what its next chapter looks like after 30 years.
