Music on the Sissiboo

Music on the Sissiboo is the free weekly Friday-night concert series that brings the Weymouth waterfront alive every summer. From early July through the end of August, local and regional musicians take the bandstand at Sissiboo Landing on the Sissiboo River, performing everything from folk and bluegrass to rock and Acadian fiddle tunes. It is one of the most beloved community traditions on the Acadian Shores, attracting locals and visitors alike with lawn chairs in hand.

Each Friday follows a relaxed rhythm: the Sissiboo Market opens at 4pm with local vendors, a fundraising BBQ fires up at 5pm, and the music starts at 7pm. The 2026 season runs July 3 through August 28, with a rotating lineup that has included acts like Ruth Manning & The Prospectors and Tide & Timbre. Thanks to sponsors, every concert is free — the series is produced by the Weymouth Waterfront Development Committee as a gift to the community.

Bring a lawn chair and arrive early to browse the market or grab a burger from the BBQ, which doubles as a fundraiser supporting the concert series and community programming. Sissiboo Landing sits at 4575 Highway 1 in Weymouth, beside the river — an easy detour off the Evangeline Trail between Digby and Yarmouth.
