Quick Facts
About Parrsboro Film Festival 2026
Three-day film festival with an Atlantic Canadian focus highlighting features, documentaries, and short films, with guest speakers including filmmakers and actors. Includes a Short Film Competition (Saturday Oct 3) open to Atlantic Canadian filmmakers in categories of 6 minutes or under and 6-20 minutes.
Parrsboro is an unlikely but fitting home for an indie film festival: the town sits on the cliffs of the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark and has long punched above its weight in arts and culture, from the Parrsboro Rock and Mineral Show to the Ships' Company Theatre. Screenings take over the hall at 44 King Street for the weekend.
The 2026 edition runs October 2-4, right as fall colour peaks along the Fundy shore, so the festival doubles as a leaf-peeping long weekend. Festival passes and single-screening tickets are available through the festival; the town is under an hour from Amherst and about two hours from Halifax via Highway 104 and Route 2.
