Quick Facts
History & Description
Tusket River Lighthouse sits on the southwest point of Big Fish Island, on the eastern side of the entrance to the Tusket River in Yarmouth County. The original lighthouse was established in 1864, with a dwelling featuring two lights on its roof. That structure was replaced between 1960 and 1962 by the current square wood tower, painted white with a red roof, which stands 37 feet tall. The light was automated by 1993 and continues to serve as an active navigational aid, showing a flashing white light.
