Detailed Information

Tucked into the sheltered folds of the Gaspereau Valley, a five-minute drive from downtown Wolfville, Benjamin Bridge has earned a reputation as the winery that put Nova Scotia sparkling wine on the world map. The story began with a simple question β€” could the cool, tide-cooled slopes of the Annapolis Valley produce world-class bubbles using the same traditional method as Champagne? Two decades and countless awards later, the answer is a resounding yes. Today this Certified B Corporation winery welcomes visitors year-round to a sleek, light-filled tasting room overlooking rows of vines and the gentle hills beyond, where the moderating influence of the nearby Bay of Fundy gives the grapes their trademark bright acidity.

Practical Information

Address & Location: 1966 White Rock Road, Gaspereau, NS B4P 2R1. Located in the Gaspereau Valley, roughly 5 minutes from Wolfville, 30 minutes from Kentville, and about 1 hour 15 minutes from Halifax via Highway 101.

Hours of Operation: Open year-round. Summer season (roughly May through October) daily 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM; off-season hours shift, so check the website before visiting. Tastings are reservation-strongly-recommended, especially weekends and harvest season.

Tasting Experiences: Guided seated flights run daily, including the signature Bubbles & Bites pairing (around $40 per person) and the Biodiversity vineyard-focused experience (around $30 per person). Bottles and merchandise are available at the retail counter, and shipping is offered across much of Canada.

What to Know Before You Go: Book ahead β€” this is the single most repeated piece of advice. Bring a designated driver, or better yet, arrange a local wine tour so everyone in your group can taste freely. The Good Cheer Trail, Nova Scotia's wine and cider route, lists Benjamin Bridge as a marquee stop, making it an ideal anchor for a day of valley winery-hopping.

Getting There: From Halifax, take Highway 101 west to Exit 11 (Wolfville/Greenwich), follow the signs into Wolfville, and then head into the Gaspereau Valley along the scenic White Rock Road. The drive itself is part of the appeal, threading past orchards, farm stands, and other wineries.
