Each July, Halifax Nova Multifest turns the Dartmouth waterfront into the region's largest multicultural festival. Held annually, this free-admission festival transforms the Dartmouth waterfront at Alderney Landing into a three-day hub of global traditions, cuisines, and performances. Attendance has topped 25,000 and organizers project more than 30,000 for 2026. Admission stays free, and the bill runs from Acadian fiddle to Bollywood dance — the communities that call the province home take the stage themselves. Expect three days of traditional dance, international music lines from kitchen-party folk to West African drumming, food tents run by local cultural associations, and a craft market.

The essentials for the 2026 edition:

• Address & Venue: The festival takes place at Alderney Landing, located at 2 Ochterloney Street on the beautiful Dartmouth waterfront.

• Dates & Hours: Mark your calendar for July 24-26, 2026. The festivities run from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday, 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturday, and 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday.

• Admission Cost: Excellent news—entry to the festival is completely free for all visitors. Voluntary donations are encouraged to help support the event.

• Parking: On-site parking at Alderney Landing is available at a rate of $4 per hour or $20 for a full day, with credit/debit cards accepted. Limited complimentary 15 and 30-minute spots are available, but overnight parking is not permitted. A great alternative is to take the ferry across Halifax Harbour.

• Booking: No reservations or advance bookings are required for general admission.
