Louisbourg Crab Fest

The Louisbourg Crab Fest is a beloved Cape Breton summer tradition celebrating the region's world-class snow crab fishery. Set against the backdrop of the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site — the largest reconstructed 18th-century French fortress in North America — the Crab Fest offers a uniquely Cape Breton experience combining incredible seafood with rich cultural heritage. Visitors can explore the fortress in the morning before heading to the waterfront for crab dinners, live Celtic and Acadian music, and community celebrations that run into the evening.
