History & Description

Church Point Lighthouse is located near the town of that name on the French Shore of Nova Scotia. The light was discontinued in 1994, and the condition of the building has been variable since that time.

The buildings have since been reconstructed and now function year-round as a research centre for the UniversitΓ© Sainte-Anne Biology Department. The site offers a unique intersection of maritime heritage and contemporary scientific research on St. Mary's Bay.
