Quick Facts
History & Description
The Mullins Point Front Range Light was established in 1873 as a square wood tower painted white, located on the north entrance to Wallace Harbour in Cumberland County. It served as a front range light, guiding vessels safely into Wallace Harbour from the Northumberland Strait.
The light was automated by 1993 and later decommissioned as modern navigational aids made it obsolete. The structure is no longer standing. The rear range light companion, which was a one-and-a-half storey wood frame structure with the lighthouse mounted on the hip gable roof of the keeper's dwelling, is still standing and is provincially designated as a heritage property.
